Zhou Kehua, the Chinese serial killer known colloquially as the ‘’Chinese Rambo’’ was killed in a shootout with police officials on Tuesday morning in southwest China’s, Chongqing municipality.
The 42-year-old robber and murderer is one of China’s most wanted men – having been held notoriously responsible for a string of horrifying murders dating back to 2004.
Justice has been served and the man that inflicted terror on a nation has been killed. Here’s what happened in the shocking events that lead to his death and ultimately to a countries collective sigh of relief.
On Friday (three days before he was killed), Zhou, the competent fugitive known disturbingly to officials for his ability to move elusively without leaving a trace, brutally shot dead a woman and injured two others outside a bank during an attempted robbery.
Alarmingly, and just hours later, local police reported that a railway policeman was also killed – the policeman is understood to have been chasing a man he believed to be Zhou running from the scene.
The deceased officer was killer Zhou’s tenth victim inside the gruesome-killing-span of eight years.
The hard-to-find killer with a cold-blooded ‘record’ now found himself at the centre of a monumental manhunt.
According to sickening media reports, unrelenting Zhou shot all of his victims in the head. Police say the violent outcast specifically targeted people withdrawing money from banks.
Killer Zhou has poured fear into the hearts of the people of China for almost a decade; committing violent robberies in tourist populated cities such as Chongqing, Nanjing and Changsha.
There was clearly a country consensus to have the terrifying fugitive captured at all costs – and karma was soon to give Zhou his comeuppance.
A day before police shot dead evil Zhou – a man recognized to be an expert at survival in the wild, a full-scale search of Chongqing unearthed a gruesome cave. Inside were two cigarette cases, a T-shirt and human faeces.
A police report confirmed that this dark shelter is where the ‘’Chinese Rambo’’ had been hiding.
China’s authorities immediately warned people against attempting to confront the killer, who they now believed to be prowling the mountains in and around the area. And they were right. Authorities considered him “ruthless and highly dangerous”
Luckily, nobody else was harmed after this discovery, until Zhou himself was shot dead by police in a bloody and dramatic shootout around 6am the following morning.
News reports from police and witnesses that describe the gorey confrontation are being updated by the hour. This story has caught the attention of the world.
And for China, this ”just” killing of a killer will allow once and for all, the people of Chongquing to slowly but safely move on.
