If you’re an ex-vegan, be very afraid – the Vegan Sell Out List is creating a directory of ‘sellout’s’ personal details.
Vegans used to be seen as a docile bunch, drinking their soy lattes, eating hummus on everything and going on about how great quinoa is – we get it, quinoa is amazing. But it seems that some vegans are growing more hostile and intolerant of the rest of us who are cool with eating meat and dairy. Last year PETA released a bizarre and freakish ad practically promoting violence against women in a campaign for veganism.
Now, an extremist vegan website, Vegan Sell Out List, describe themselves as “an online directory of those who have regressed from moral consistency to moral depravity.” What kind of moral depravity are these people practicing? They used to be vegan and for some reason abandoned the lifestyle. Abominable, I know.
“If you’re no longer vegan, you’re going on the list,” reads their mission statement. So the website invites users to submit their ex-vegan friend’s basic information, picture and description so other angry vegans can comment, humiliate and threaten them. Users can browse through an interactive map of the USA and find enemies to the vegan cause separated by state.
The Vegan Sellout List seem to be very worried about what they call “an epidemic” of vegans who are selling out and returning to sinful lives of meat and dairy. Also from the website’s mission statement: “To those who have regressed from veganism, yet display symptoms of a soul not fully blackened to it’s core, we ask you to remind yourself why you were what you were” and a link follows to the website for Meet Your Meat, the PETA documentary that explicitly shows what goes on behind the meat industry. If watching the documentary didn’t take you aback, the website suggests suicide. Yes, really.

No excuse is a good one for abandoning veganism and the people of The Vegan Sellout List are unforgiving; someone turned in Natalie Portman who went back to being a vegetarian during her pregnancy, concerned with the health of her baby.
Another enemy to the cause named and shamed on the website is Brady Kacyzinski from Tennessee. Brady’s crime was serving his vegan gang lentil soup that had been made with beef broth, “Everyone starts freaking out, and I and several other people start sticking our fingers down our throats, all the while this ASSHOLE is mocking us and telling us to swallow it back down. Go to hell!! So many of the people there were genuinely traumatised and still feel guilty about what you tricked us into doing!!!” Intense.
These may seem like innocent people who just want to eat cheese and are looking out for their friends’ health, but they are really practicing “ethical degeneracy and paleo-terrorism” according to our friends at Vegan Sellout List.
Getting tired of your tofu burger and almond milk diet? Keep it to yourself or you might risk ending up on these vegans’ directory of hate.
